I remember it was cold, and as I dozed off listening to Radio 4 on longwave, a voice read out a list of all the place names on the Moon. " The Bay of Rainbows, The Sea of Serenity, The Marsh of Sleep." It was very poetic, and some 25 years later the experience resulted in this painting. The picture itself began as a tracing of a NASA image, which I then
