It takes its name from the Persian word gonce, meaning "bud". This word becomes a metaphor for the potential hidden within the form, which has not yet blossomed but hides an inherent beauty. While the round feet and spherical forms on the head represent the continuity of life, the embroidered fabric surfaces carry the inner rhythm of nature.
