The idea of drawing regular still life compositions is for me anyway, is both a means of practising drawing but also working on form and composition. These skills are just as important, almost key, for drawing landscapes when out walking. A simple earthenware jug, perhaps one of my favourites filled with daffodils set against a blue cloth. The pastel paper shines through adding even more texture, pale
