but chose to relocate to Tasmania in 1984 where he has become well-known for his public seating installations

as that wasn't introduced until much later

This particular example dates back to circa 1985. This sophisticated table has a highly polished stainless steel base, and has a high quality marble table top. SOM produced hundreds of their own furniture designs during the 1950s to 1980s. This was a classic example. This particular table actually came from the private collection
