I have seen another cabinet card by Lock, probably taken in this same session, of Buckskin Joe and Pawnee Bill .. so I believe this cowboy was a member of one of Pawnee Bills Wild West shows and was taken on tour.. although I have never seen another example of this image its possibly a very rare one.
