Ancient Egyptian glass mb-height 3870 22nd August 1983Nineteen figures of ancient Egyptian glass with a Victorian glass brick at the Tower of London. Plate 2 from the book Curiosities of glass making with details of the processes and productions of ancient and modern ornamental glass manufacture by Apsley Pellatt (David Bogue, London, 1849). Inscribed: 'PLATE 2. Ancient Glass found in Egyptian Tombs, at Thebes. Glass Brick in foundation stone at the Tower of London.' Artist and lithographer are not noted
