Victorian Memento Mori Skeleton & Coffin Pillbox Pendant turquoise matrix circa 1930DATE: Victorian, c. 1880 A remarkable memento mori pillbox pendant dating from the late Victorian period, circa 1880. Fashioned in sterling silver, it's modelled as a coffin complete with skeleton on the lid and skull swivel bail. It opens via a catch on the bottom to reveal a locket compartment with four spaces, presumably for pills or powders.
