Michter's US #1 American Whiskey Scottish fresh soft tanninsUnlike Bourbon or Rye which, by definition, must be aged in new oak barrels, Michter's US*1 Unblended American Whiskey is aged in a way that utilizes whiskey soaked barrels to achieve a rich and unique flavour profile. As such, this expression cannot be called bourbon, as bourbon needs to be matured in new American oak barrels hence why it's called whiskey instead.
