Here you get lovely bumps and holes that capture the pigments in the watercolour, giving a 3D effect you can't get with ordinary paper. Apply the primer with a dry palette knife and the texture will resemble rough handmade paper. For a smoother surface similar to cold pressed, use a little water with the palette knife.
