Then brilliant turquoise blue squares are screened onto from top to bottom

this border gently widens to a full 8" in width

The inner lining covers the skirt and the front of the bodice leaving the entire back and sleeves covered only by the semi-transparent silk

On this simple base is fabulous cord applique panels applied to the neck and front and down each sleeves and all around the cuffs. The cord work appears to have been hand done in panels and then hand sewn into place onto the caftan. The cord is a deep gold color and pops against the black backdrop. Excellent condition.
