1950s Coral Silk Satin Bow Dress designer-oscar-de-la-renta including collectors and historiansThis is a wonderful gown from the late 1950s, maybe early 1960s. The gown is extraordinary. A heavy grade silk satin is hand dyed a salmon pink and that color, combined with the fabric choice, makes it seem to have an inner glow. A simple sheath that nips in slightly at the waist sits under a wrapped outer layer. Indeed, upon inspection one realizes that the outer layer is a finely constructed piece in its own right that is attached around the top
